Kyoko Matsushita Named Essence’s First Global Chief Client Officer
Kyoko Matsushita will become Essence’s first Global Chief Client Officer. Matsushita, who is currently APAC CEO, will continue to oversee the region for the agency while transitioning into her new role.
As Global Chief Client Officer, Matsushita will join Global CEO Christian Juhl, Global Chief Operating Officer Steve Williams, Global Chief Talent Officer Jennifer Remling, Global Chief Strategy Officer Damian Blackden, and Global Chief of Product Operations Rich Mooney on the Global Leadership Team. Matsushita will be responsible for evolving and nurturing Essence’s Global Client Services Practice, overseeing the quality of work, boosting organic account growth, and collaborating on new business initiatives.
Matsushita first joined Essence in 2014 to lead the APAC region for the agency. Over the last five years, she has driven the rapid expansion of Essence’s business across APAC and overseen the establishment of offices in Bengaluru, Delhi, Jakarta, Melbourne, Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. In 2018, Matsushita was honored with the “CEO of the Year” Certificate of Excellence at Campaign Asia-Pacific’s Women Leading Change Awards for her success building Essence’s business in the region. Prior to Essence, Matsushita led client-side marketing teams at companies including Electronic Arts and Sony. She has more than two decades’ experience overseeing media, marketing, business development and operations across EMEA and APAC.
