Pixel 2 campaign, The Chain, wins 2018 WPP Award
Essence's campaign for The Chain was named a winner in the 2018 WPPed Cream awards, WPP’s creative awards competition. The Pixel 2 campaign took home the "Winner" prize in the Media category.
With the idea of promoting towards a highly stylish crowd that is open to “creatures of change” - the designers, writers, critics, and conversationalists who question norms - Essence scoured the world of fashion to find 10 catalysts. Each was briefed on all of the great features of the new Pixel 2 and sent on their way. Over the course of 10 days they gave us a "behind the scenes" look at their daily lives: their inspirations, the people they connect with, and the trends they were spotting. They captured their content with our Pixel 2 device, uploaded daily into The Guardian, and curated into 50+ digital articles, 3 videos and a beautiful 32-page fashion magazine that was then distributed in fashion boutiques across London.
The WPPed Cream awards were created in 2007 to recognize top work produced by WPP companies internationally. The awards give all agencies within the WPP group an opportunity to showcase outstanding work that has provided brand value to their clients.
